RTP in iGaming
RTP, or return to player, is the expected share of wagered money that a game returns to players over a large number of rounds.
Formula
RTP % = winnings paid / stakes x 100
Example
A slot with 96% theoretical RTP is expected to return $96 for every $100 wagered over the long term. The corresponding theoretical hold is about 4%.
Theoretical vs actual RTP
Theoretical RTP comes from game math. Actual RTP is observed in data and can move significantly in short windows because of variance, jackpots, and player behavior.
Analytics use
RTP helps explain GGR swings, game mix effects, bonus profitability, and whether observed results are within expected variance.
